SAX adds another Mthatha flight

SA Express (SAX) has added a second frequency from Johannesburg to Mthatha, which started on February 25.

The airline operates a 50-seat regional jet CRJ 200 on the route, and now offers a morning and afternoon service from Sunday to Friday.

The morning flight departs OR Tambo at 06h00, arriving in Mthatha at 07h30. The return flight departs at 08h10, and arrives at OR Tambo at 09h 40. The afternoon fight departs OR Tambo at 15h30, arriving in Mthatha at 17h00. The return flight departs Mthatha at 17h40, arriving at OR Tambo at 19h10.

The airline resumed operations between OR Tambo and Mthatha Airport last week Thursday, after the South African Civil Aviation Authority reinstated the airport following last month’s downgrade.

“This is purely demand driven and we are grateful for the overwhelming support we have been receiving since we started operating this route back in December last year,” the airline said in a statement.
