Singapore Airlines buck the
trend of falling BSP sales in
South Africa this year, says its
manager Cape Provinces, Paul
Wong.
He says after 21 years in
the market, Singapore Airlines’
business in South Africa
continues to grow because
Singapore offers some of the
best connections to Thailand
and Bali, while Malaysia is
becoming an increasingly
affordable destination
because of its weakening
currency. The airline’s
Singapore Stopover Holiday
incentives are also popular
with South Africans, offering
hotel accommodation, airport
transfers and discounts
on shopping, dining and
sightseeing. Singapore Airlines
flies daily from Johannesburg
and four times a week from
Cape Town via Johannesburg,
using a B777-200ER.
Paul was speaking at a
cocktail function at the V&A
Waterfront in Cape Town,
held to honour this year’s top
supporting Cape Town travel
agents. This was followed by
a complimentary screening
of Spectre, the latest James
Bond film.
