Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) launched its first 180-seat Airbus A320neo at Zurich Airport, earlier this month.

The aircraft, named ’Engelberg’, is one of 25 new aircraft that will replace the older Airbus A320 fleet. The other 24 will be rolled out between now and 2024 –17 A32Oneos and eight larger A321neos.

The new fleet will offer lower noise emissions and newly developed seats that recline 20 degrees (previously 12) during taxi, take-off and landing.

Added benefits for business-class passengers include a seat that can recline up to 26 degrees during the cruise phase of flight.

The new aircraft will operate on routes of up to 4 200km within Europe and to destinations in North Africa and the Middle East.
