FEW conferences kick off with game show, but with all the glitz and glamour game show host ‘Will I am Puk’ could inject on a gloriously sunny Cape Town morning, this year’s Travel Counsellors conference did just that.
Suppliers like Beachcomber, Thompsons Holidays, Avis and Holiday Tours were all showcased in the format of a ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire?’ themed game show format with fantastic prizes including international flights and seven-night packages to Mauritius.
Fired up and ecstatic at the array of prizes, Travel Counsellors were treated to a Supplier Showcase, fun Cape Minstrel-themed evening at the Paulaner Brauhaus at the V&A Waterfront and a life-changing motivational talk by UK-based Michael Finnigan, who has ‘coached’ the likes of the South African Proteas cricket team. A gala dinner sponsored by Travelport sealed the event, rewarding those counsellors who had achieved the best sales, best business increase and best margin, among others.
