THE Travel Corporation has
extended its call centre
hours for Trafalgar, Insight
Vacations and Contiki
Holidays in South Africa,
Canada and Australia to
better meet the needs of
travel agents and clients.
The new project, called
Follow the Sun, provides
agents with extended
times outside normal
working hours, literally
following the sun. “When
South Africa shuts down
for the evening our
Canadian call centre takes
over our after-hours calls.
Likewise when Australia
shuts up shop for the
night our South African
office picks up our lines,
taking their after-hours
calls,” says Theresa
Szejwallo, md of The
Travel Corporation.
The extended hours are
from 17h00 until midnight.
“We have invested in
new technology and up
staffed our call centre to
facilitate our Follow the
Sun project,” Theresa
adds. “This has provided
the flexibility needed to
suit the busy schedules of
our agents and clients.
“We are already seeing
the results,” says Theresa.
“I received an email
from a consultant who
was having some trouble
regarding a payment on
her Trafalgar trip. She
called our offices after
hours not expecting
anyone to answer and
got through to one of
our Canadian consultants
who helped her
immediately.
