British Airways is to trial an automatic check-in system, where customers won’t need to check themselves in either physically or online.
The airline will check passengers in and send them their boarding passes electronically, short-cutting the existing check-in processes.
Frank van der Post, British Airways’ md of brands and customer experience, said: “We’re aiming to give customers one less thing to think about by giving them the choice to be checked in automatically and sent their boarding pass electronically. Then they just need to drop off any bags and make their way to the plane.”
