Marriott International has changed its cancellation policy. The hotel
group previously allowed guests to cancel at no charge within 24 hours
of their reservation but now requires two days’ notice or will charge a
fee equivalent to a one-night stay. The new policy applies to all Marriott
hotels in the US, Canada, Caribbean and Latin America. The company
said the change would help reduce the number of unsold rooms due to
last-minute cancellations.
