Tourism heads engage on outbound UBC policy

The Tourism Business Council of South Africa, Asata, and Minister of Tourism Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane have met to discuss concerns raised regarding the scrapping of UBCs.

Asata questioned the fact that South African children were excluded, calling it discriminatory in favour of foreign minors.

Following this, the three met for an engagement that is being described as fruitful by TBCSA ceo, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa.

“The agreed way forward will include proposals and recommendations from the TBCSA and Asata on practical ways that could be implemented to ensure smooth travel movement for South African children without compromising security,” said Tshifhiwa in a statement.
