IN an effort to promote the KwaZulu Natal (KZN) region of Maputaland as a top tourist destination, the St Lucia Maputaland Biosphere will be holding a three-day Eco-fair from July 14 to 16.
Activities have been arranged specifically to complement the diversity of the region and include cultural activities such as a stick-fighting display, assegai-throwing competition, outdoor activities such as tiger fishing, 4x4 and quad bike rallies, canoe races on the Jozini Dam, a variety of stalls selling indigenous crafts, food and muti (medicinal) plants, treasure hunts, falconry and horse riding.
Accommodation is reportedly plentiful in the region, with 200 facilities offering up to 10 000 beds.
