Night train to connect Poland with four European cities
Polish state rail operator PKP Intercity will launch a new overnight sleeper train, connecting southeastern Poland to Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany.
The EuroNight service, EN Carpatia, will begin operating from December 14, starting in Przemyśl and running via Rzeszów, Kraków and Katowice in Poland. It will continue into the Czech Republic and travel through Vienna, Linz and Salzburg in Austria before arriving in Munich, Germany.
At Bohumín in the Czech Republic, several carriages will be detached and routed to Bratislava in Slovakia and Budapest in Hungary.
According to TVP World, the train will depart Przemyśl at around 17h50 and arrive in Munich the next morning at 10h25. The return service will depart Munich at 18h45 and arrive in Przemyśl at 10h10 the following day.
The train will include sleeper and couchette cars.
Golden Eagle adds new Europe departures
Golden Eagle Luxury Trains has added four new departure dates for its European journeys in 2026 following a surge in demand for its luxury rail experiences.
An additional departure for the 11-day Grand Alpine Express will depart Budapest on May 1, 2026. The seven-day Castles of Transylvania tour also has an additional departure with trips now scheduled in May, September, and October.
The eight-day Paris to Istanbul journey, passing through six countries and introduced this year, will have additional September and October departures in both directions next year.
All European itineraries are hosted on the Golden Eagle Danube Express. Itineraries are all-inclusive, with private en-suite cabins, gourmet dining and guided excursions, according to Latte Luxury News.
