The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has issued a travel advisory for Japan.
Heavy rain is forecast across the country and evacuation orders have been put in place in Kagoshima Prefecture on the island of Kyushu due to the risk of flooding and landslides.
Travellers in the affected areas should monitor local news, follow the advice of local authorities and move away from the areas with evacuation orders until lifted.
