Travel agents who booked air tickets on the Galileo Travelport GDS for Amadeus-hosted airlines between November 11 and November 15 need to double check that the ticket dates are confirmed and that the ticket numbers have been received by the GDS.
Some of the tickets issued during this time were not picked up on the GDS due to an error. British Airways was one of the affected airlines.
“A very small number of Travelport bookings, equating to a fraction of our total transactions, were affected last week when we upgraded certain operating software in our Atlanta data centre. The cause of the processing error has been identified and resolved, the issue has been completely contained and we are proactively contacting the affected travel agencies and airlines,” says a spokesperson from Travelport.
He could not confirm which other airlines had been impacted.
“If your customer has to pay an upgrade, they will advised to revert to you and, in turn, you will need to report this to the local Travelport helpdesk,” Travelport has advised.
