Travellers to Turkey will have to apply for e-visas in advance after Turkish airports discontinue self-service e-visa kiosks from October 29.
However the Turkish Embassy in Pretoria has not received any notice/instructions from the immigration authorities regarding the closing down of self-service e-Visa kiosks and Wi-Fi areas, therefore, at this stage they are not in the position to say whether it is temporary or permanent measures of immigration and airport management.
The embassy suggests travellers should get their online visas before they travel.
A spokesperson told eTNW that the service was still free of charge and that normal application procedures applied.
This story has been updated since publication, to include input from the Embassy.
