Turkey – Vax, PCR or antigen

Turkish Airlines in South Africa has issued a statement with news of the relaxation of entry requirements to Turkey for travellers from South Africa.

To be exempt from quarantine, vaccinated passengers must carry proof of vaccination. This must show two doses of vaccine listed by WHO (or Turkey for emergency use) or one dose of Johnson & Johnson. The last dose must have been taken a minimum of 14 days before arrival in Turkey.

Unvaccinated passengers must provide either a negative result from a PCR test taken within the 72 hours before arrival in Turkey, or a negative result from an antigen test taken in the 48 hours before arrival.

Passengers may also carry proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the prior six months, starting from the 28th day of the first positive PCR test result.

All relevant documents, such as vaccine certificates, PCR or antigen test results, will be checked by the airline before travel and passengers without the relevant documents will not be allowed to board.

Passengers under 12 years are exempt from having to present PCR or antigen tests and vaccine certificates on entry.

These requirements do not apply to transit passengers.

All passengers arriving in Turkey from South Africa must complete a Passenger Locator Form by using the following link: https://register.health.gov.tr/
