The UAE has rolled out a unified nationwide fine of AED50 (R220) per day for visitors who overstay their visas.
Previously, the fine differed based on the emirate and the visa category, but now tourist, visit and residence visa penalties are consolidated under a single framework.
The previous 10-day grace period for most tourist visa overstays has also been withdrawn, with penalties imposed immediately after visa expiry.
