UPDATE: Botswana government confirms first suspected coronavirus

A traveller, who arrived in Botswana from China on an Ethiopian Airways fight on Thursday, is now under quarantine as Botswana's government today (Friday) official confirmed the country's first suspected case of coronavirus.

The Department of Health and Wellness said in a statement that the suspected case was registered at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gabarone.

"The person suspected of having the coronavirus is still under isolation at Block 8 Clinic and investigations are ongoing,” reads the statement.
