The indefinite national strike action called upon by the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, and the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals on Tuesday November 6 has been called off.
SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlai has confirmed that the strike has been called off. 'This means, any possible impact on the operations, is no longer an issue to contend with. Our services and flights will be as per published schedules,' said Tlali.
The planned strike action was in response to government unwillingness to implement with a report of the tripartite committee on minimum wage review.
In an earlier statement the organisations called on all workers in the aviation sector to withdraw all services from 00h00 on November 6. It equally urged the general public, as well as those planning travel to the region to avoid or cancel their plans during the time of strike.
