Wheels operator entrenches safety first

SEVERAL staff members at Wilro Tours and Transfers have been awarded certificates after successfully completing the advanced driving course offered by Master Drive, a member of the Avis group.
According to Wilro's owner, Eugene Armer, the course has recently been adopted by the company as a standard requirement for all full-time employees and certificates are valid for two years.
"Designed as a refresher course for experienced drivers, the training focuses on the most common causes of collisions and how to avoid them through defensive driving," explains Armer.
He believes the training will better equip the company's drivers/guides to provide safe transportation for its passengers in all driving conditions.
This step follows the company's decision last year to double its passenger liability insurance from R10m to R20m per microbus, while public liability insurance has been increased from R1m to R5m.
Gauteng-based Wilro Tours and Transfers was also recently converted from a Close Corporation (CC) to a (Pty) Limited company.
