Windstar Cruises will redeploy its four-masted sailing yacht, Wind Star, to French Polynesia from March 2027, joining the all-suite Star Breeze in the region.
For agents selling the destination, the redeployment means a choice of two product types. The 148-passenger Wind Star will operate the seven-night Dreams of Tahiti itinerary year-round, departing every Monday. The itinerary includes Raiatea, regarded as the ancestral homeland of the Māori people.
The 312-passenger Star Breeze will continue to operate longer 21-day voyages through the Tuamotus, Marquesas, Fiji and the Cook Islands.
Windstar says its Polynesian sailings will include onshore cultural programmes such as fire dancing and island cuisine, alongside activities on board such as ukulele lessons, lei-making and Tahitian language introductions.
