Air Heads:A snapshot of the week's airline news

KLM to adjust winter schedule
KLM will reduce the number of flights it had planned and curtail
the growth it had intended for the 2015/2016 winter season, which
runs from October 25 to March 26. The adjustments will result in
a half-million fewer seats than were previously planned. KLM will
reduce flight frequencies to ten European destinations. Furthermore,
frequencies to Africa, Japan and Brazil will also be curtailed. The
adjustments result from the fact that KLM’s revenues are under
pressure, which will force Air France KLM to accelerate its plans to
implement its Perform 2020 programme.

Ethiopian Airlines upgrades offering
ETHIOPIAN Airlines has made its business-class cabin more
comfortable by retrofitting its Boeing 777 fleet with fully flat beds
on long-haul routes, including China and Brazil. Ethiopian invested
over US$4 million (R55,6 million) in the retrofitting programme.
Ethiopian has also launched a double-daily flight to
Tel Aviv. The airline has also revamped its new website, showcasing
a customer-focused online presence. The new website offers a more
user-friendly way to book flights, manage bookings, check in online,
check flight status and schedule, log in to ShebaMiles accounts,
access the latest updates and check localised flight offers on a
single home page basis.
