Air travel round-up: EK increases Cairo flights

Emirates will operate six additional weekly flights on its Dubai-Cairo route from December 1. This will be increased to a daily service from February 1, 2026, making it the fifth daily flight to Cairo.

The airline currently operates four daily services.

From December, the new flight will depart Dubai every day except Thursdays at 10h45 and arrive in Cairo at 13h00. The return will depart Cairo at 14h40 on the same days and arrive in Dubai at 19h55.

From February onwards, the daily service will depart Dubai at 04h00 and arrive in Cairo at 06h15. The return will depart Cairo at 08h00 and arrive in Dubai at 13h15.

Guangzhou airport opens new Terminal 3

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport opened its new Terminal 3 on October 30.

Terminal 3 features 199 check-in counters, 60 self-service check-in kiosks and 59 baggage drop unites, 87 jet bridges, 886 flight information display screens and 31 domestic and nine international security lanes, according to Airport Industry News.

The terminal includes a Ground Transportation Centre, which offers passengers easy access via highways, rail and public transport systems.

Qatar and Air Algérie sign codeshare

Qatar Airways and Air Algérie have signed a codeshare partnership that will enable travellers to book codeshare flights for travel starting on November 15.

The codeshare offers Qatar Airways customers easier access to Algiers as well as six other key destinations in Air Algérie's domestic network, including Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun and Tindouf. Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club members will also earn Avios on codeshare flights operated by Air Algérie.

Delta to launch Riyadh flights

Beginning October 2026, Delta Air Lines will inaugurate non-stop flights from Atlanta to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The flight will operate three times weekly on Delta’s Airbus A350-900, featuring Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main experiences on board.
