UA announces pre-order meals before flights
United Airlines has announced that its customers can now order fresh, United Economy meals before their flight. Passengers can preorder burgers and sandwiches using the airline’s website and mobile app between five days and 24 hours prior to departure.
The service will be made available on flights across North America and the Caribbean. From March 1, preorders will be the only way to purchase fresh meals for those travelling in economy cabins on these routes. Snacks and beverages will still be available for purchase on board.
According to the airline, this is expected to help United’s food-waste reduction efforts.
