Airlines screen matches, boost capacity for FIFA World Cup

Several airlines are broadcasting live 2022 FIFA World Cup matches on flights after signing deals with live TV providers.

Among the providers, Sport24 is broadcasting the entire FIFA World Cup on hundreds of aircraft, thanks to their in-flight channels.

Emirates, Etihad Airways, JetBlue and Singapore Airlines, whose in-flight entertainment systems include Sport24, are offering all 64 matches of the tournament broadcast live. Sport24 is also transmitting regular highlight shows throughout the game and repeat matches.

Some airlines have also increased capacity to Doha. British Airways is using Qatar Airways’ slots at London Heathrow to operate the Airbus 380 on a daily service to Qatar.

From Friday, November 18, Aerolineas Argentinas has been providing charter flights to Doha for Argentinian football fans.
