Amadeus enriches green data

Amadeus has launched Travel Impact Suite, which provides data and technology for travel agents to highlight the environmental impact of a flight so that they and their clients can make more sustainable decisions.

Built on three key pillars – Inform, Mitigate, and Compensate – the Travel Impact Suite offers comprehensive solutions that allow travel sellers the option to prioritise more sustainable practices.

Under the ‘Inform’ pillar, Amadeus is introducing two new products within the Travel Impact Suite. Firstly, Travel Impact Data Hub aggregates emissions data from various sources for travel activities covering flights, hotels, rail and cars, enabling travel sellers to convey and manage consistent information about the environmental impact of travel options.

To power the solution, Amadeus is leveraging new as well as long-standing partnerships with the Association of Car Rental Industry System Standards, ICAO, Greentripper, Greenview, and Travalyst.

Travel Impact Explorer also enables travel sellers to query the Data Hub to retrieve the environmental impact of a specific travel activity or for a whole trip.

The Amadeus Travel Impact Suite will soon be complemented with Travel Impact Booster, allowing travellers and corporations to support carbon projects through an integrated catalogue of options made available by CHOOOSE and other Amadeus partners such as CarbonClick. This new content will be made accessible through APIs and, progressively, additional touchpoints.

Olivier Girault, Head of Sustainability Solutions, ESG office, Amadeus, said: “With our integrated methodology with Travalyst and other bodies, we can ensure consistency and granularity in carbon emissions data, providing a unified approach across the travel industry. Amadeus aims to deploy the Travel Impact Suite across all touchpoints, reaching various traveller and travel types, from online travel agencies to corporate booking tools.”
