AmaWaterways is expanding its Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruise programme with four new itineraries debuting in August next year.
Journeys range from nine to 18 nights and feature newly added destinations such as Kenya, Namibia and Zanzibar. The trips merge three-night Chobe River cruises on the 28-passenger Zambezi Queen with unique land excursions.
The shortest of the itineraries, a nine- or 11-night trip from the Cape to Victoria Falls, features add-ons including penguin encounters at Boulders Beach, the Chobe River cruise, a guided walking tour in Victoria Falls and an optional Johannesburg extension.
The 14-night Iconic Africa itinerary features Cape Town, a Chobe River cruise, Victoria Falls and a three-night stay in the Greater Kruger National Park. Highlights include a Cape of Good Hope tour, a trip to Soweto and multiple safaris.
The 14- or 18-night Classic Kenya & Southern Africa trip offers a cross-regional experience combining the Chobe River and Victoria Falls with Kenya’s Amboseli and Maasai Mara reserves. Guests will visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust rehabilitation centre in Nairobi, take in views of wildlife and Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli and go on guided walks through the Maasai Mara.
The 15-night African Wonders & the Skeleton Coast itinerary showcases the landscapes of Namibia, including NamibRand Nature Reserve, Etosha National Park and the Skeleton Coast. Highlights include a stay at a desert lodge in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, a catamaran excursion in Swakopmund and a visit to the Himba Living museum in Outja.
“We’re thrilled to offer even more opportunities for our guests to experience the trip of a lifetime – seeing wildlife right on the riverbanks, connecting with amazing people and exploring the rich cultures and landscapes that make this region so special,” said Catherine Powell, CEO of AmaWaterways.
These itineraries are available for 2026 and 2027 departures.
