The Blue Marlin All-Inclusive Seascape in Scottburgh was launched to an excited gathering of the travel industry on October 3. The renovated areas and new amenities of the resort were showcased and the team also used the event to give awards and a thank-you to its travel partners. “Without you, we do not have a business,” said Brent Dickson, COO of Dream Hotels and Resorts.

Speaking on the investment the hotel group has made in the Scottburgh area, Dickson told Travel News: “We still believe the South Coast is one of the best in South Africa. It has great beaches and one of the best diving spots in the world. We believe that if we invest, the whole area will turn. We are working with government and municipalities as well to improve the town, and we have started to see a bit of a revival.”

The future is all-inclusive

Dickson said similar refurbishments of other Dream Hotels and Resorts’ properties could be expected in the near future. Elaborating on the future of the company, Sales Tribal Chief Wayne Neath, said Dream Hotels would be extending the all-inclusive model to its other properties.

“Will Dream Hotels look at the all-inclusive model in the future? Yes. We are considering repositioning Nibela Lake Lodge, for example. It’s a beautiful property and it's located in a beautiful spot, surrounded by wetlands, and the land still belongs to the community."
