EK doubles down on Cape Town

Emirates is going all out to meet the demand in the local market for travel from South Africa.

On February 1, the carrier reintroduced its second daily flight from Cape Town.  With the addition of the new service, the airline has fully restored its operations to pre-pandemic levels. There are, once more, fourteen flights on the Dubai-Cape Town route.

The ramp-up of flights across Emirates’ South African gateways will support the recovery of both the outbound travel industry and the international inbound tourism industry, and the enhanced connectivity between Dubai and Cape Town will be a boon to the economy both of the Western Cape and the country.

The new flight, EK773 departs Cape Town daily at 13h25.

The existing daily flight, EK 771 leaves Cape Town at 18h25.

This second daily service is operated with a Boeing 777-300ER in a three-class configuration with eight private suites in first class, 42 lie-flat seats in business class and 304 economy-class seats.

The addition of the second daily Cape Town flight means Emirates now serves South Africa with 35 weekly flights across three gateways – twice daily to Johannesburg; twice daily to Cape Town; and a daily service to Durban.

Emirates has been serving South Africa for over 27 years.
