El Al waives fees amid Middle East conflict

El Al has waived change and cancellation fees, effective from 1 October, in response to increased delays and cancellations caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Passengers who purchased tickets after October 1 for flights scheduled to depart from October 19 onwards may cancel their tickets without incurring fees and will receive a voucher, which can be redeemed until December 31.

The airline has also removed change fees for rescheduled flights to the same destination and in the same service class, although fare differences will still apply, according to a report by Travel Weekly.

Previously, El Al charged change and cancellation fees for Classic Economy ticket holders, with fees varying based on the ticket type. The airline is the only carrier operating flights between the United States and Israel, as many international airlines have suspended services due to safety concerns.
