Emirates unveils new Premium Economy seat

Emirates has introduced what it says is the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat, featuring a full-height adjustable privacy screen between every seat.

The new seat is debuting on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, with the Premium Economy cabin configured 2-3-2 with 28 seats.

Passengers can raise or lower the privacy divider electronically and lock it into position. The seat itself is also fully electrically adjustable through an integrated control unit, with settings including lounge and meal modes.

Seats are 50,8cm wide with a pitch of up to 99,1cm on the A350, and recline into a cradle position without intruding into the row behind.

Other additions include Emirates’ U-Dream adjustable headrest by Safran Seats, a leather footrest and wireless charging, which is being introduced to the airline’s Premium Economy cabin for the first time. Each seat also has USB-C charging and a tray table with an integrated phone holder.

Inflight entertainment is provided through a 33,8cm 4K HDR touchscreen. Newly delivered A350s will also offer additional exterior aircraft camera views from the left and right sides, alongside existing forward and downward views.
