ET doubles Jeddah service

Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it will increase its services between Addis Ababa and Jeddah to twice daily from February 15.

According to Simple Flying, the second daily service will be operated with a 160-seat Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The current service is operated using various wide-body aircraft, including the 777-200LR, the A350-900, the 777-300ER, the 787-8, and the 787-9.

Once the second daily service begins, the daily schedule will be as follows:

  • Addis Ababa to Jeddah: ET402: 00h10-02h40 (existing)
  • Addis Ababa to Jeddah: ET462: 11h20-13h50 (new)
  • Jeddah to Addis Ababa: ET403: 04h40-07h10 (existing)
  • Jeddah to Addis Ababa: ET463: 15h30-18h00 (new) 

Meanwhile, Ethiopian Airlines has also announced that negotiations are under way with Maltese authorities regarding adding Malta as a new route and making it a stopover point for certain of ET’s flights to the US.

The airline recently met with Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela to discuss bilateral relations, including enhancements in trade cooperation, investment, tourism, maritime, and security.

The airline announced that it will also begin flights to Karachi, Pakistan from March 26. No schedule is available yet.
