Madagascar Airlines has regained its position in Iata after a nine-year suspension.

Thierry de Bailleul, CEO of Madagascar Airlines, announced during a press conference that the airline has successfully returned to the BSP system and the Iata Clearing House. The development means that the airline can once again distribute tickets through BSP-affiliated travel agencies, offering a wider range of options for travel industry professionals and consumers.

“Now, with our reintegration, it is possible to book flights to destinations like Antananarivo or Nosy Be through a wide network of travel agencies affiliated to the BSP, which covers 70% to 90% of the market,” said De Bailleul.

He added that the airline had suffered reduced visibility during its suspension, affecting its global market performance.

Due to previous challenges relating to its financial position, Madagascar Airlines was excluded from the BSP and Clearing House. De Bailleul said the carrier was committed to further improving its image and operability.
