TRAVELLERS can now tag and track their luggage with the Reward-If-Found tagging system.
The tags have unique codes that are linked to a traveller’s name, contact details and the relevant item when they register with Reward-If-Found online via sms.
The system allows travellers to tag valuables such as cellular phones, laptops, travel wallets, golf clubs and suitcases and will not only benefit the person who has lost an item but also the person who finds it, by being rewarded for their honesty.
While tag owners can offer a nominal reward to the finder if they wish, Steve English managing director of IF-Found, says people who find and report missing items can enter a monthly draw and stand a chance to win prizes valued at between R10 000 and R20 000. They will also go into an end-of-year draw and be in line to win R1m.
To date, If-Found has given away a MacBook Pro and a Marantz surround-sound system with speakers.
There are three types of tags – iron-on tags, R29,95; sticker tags, R39,95; or stainless steel ‘key ring’ tags at R59,95. Reward-If-Found products are available at Dischem stores nationwide – look out for packs with a bright orange carrot.
It pays to be honest!
