Those with a Schengen visa travelling to European countries can now look forward to visiting Kosovo, as the country is the latest to join the area. The country’s inclusion in the Schengen zone will also allow for the free movement of its citizens.
“We have been waiting for too long; this has been a long injustice, but finally, we made it,” said Albin Kurti, Kosovo’s Prime Minister.
Kosovo has a rich history with several points of cultural interest. It declared independence from Serbia in 2008, and while more than 110 nations recognise its status, Kosovo is currently a disputed area that has prevented it from becoming a UN member state because of objections from Russia, Serbia and China, reports reuters.com.
