Lisbon introduced fixed fares for taxi journeys from Humberto Delgado Airport to the city from October 15. The move aims to tackle overcharging and alleged scams at the airport.
Under an agreement signed in September by Lisbon City Council, airport operator ANA, the Lisbon Tourism Association and two taxi associations, journeys from the airport taxi rank now fall into two fixed-price zones.
Zone 1 will cost €16 (R296) and will cover areas closest to the airport, while Zone 2 will cost €19 (R352) for the further areas. At night, on weekends and public holidays, fares rise to between €20 (R370) and €23 (R426).
