Lufthansa boosts Africa flights for 2027

The Lufthansa Group has launched its most expansive programme for the 2027 northern summer season since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

Brussels Airlines will launch flights to Cairo from March 2027, with five weekly flights. The airline will also add a third weekly flight to Kilimanjaro from the end of June next year.

Lufthansa will increase frequencies from Frankfurt to Cape Town.

Edelweiss’s seasonal flights to Windhoek will begin from March 16 and will increase to three weekly flights in July. The Kilimanjaro/Zanzibar route will now be served four times a week.

With two flights operating between Munich and Windhoek, Discover Airlines will increase this to five weekly departures in next summer’s schedule. The airline will also base a third Airbus A330-300 in Munich to strengthen its long-haul network.

Austrian Airlines will continue to serve Mauritius and Malé until April 22 and 25 respectively, almost a month beyond the winter schedule.
