Marriott debuts two brands in Uganda

Marriott International has opened Kampala Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala, marking the debut of both brands in Uganda.

The dual-branded property is located in Nsambya, minutes from Kampala’s city centre and about 40km from Entebbe International Airport. It is close to diplomatic missions, corporate headquarters and government institutions as well as attractions including the Uganda Museum, Independence Monument and Kabaka’s Palace.

Kampala Marriott Hotel has 181 guest rooms and suites, including a Presidential Suite. Facilities include six restaurants and bars, Saray Spa, steam and sauna facilities, a fitness centre and an outdoor heated swimming pool.

The hotel also offers 1 293 square metres of event space across six venues. The Kampala Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 1 000 guests with facilities designed for conferences, corporate meetings, diplomatic gatherings and social events.

Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala comprises 96 fully serviced apartments, ranging from studios to a three-bedroom penthouse. The apartments have separate living, dining and sleeping areas, fully equipped kitchens and dedicated workspaces. Guests also have access to the hotel’s dining, wellness and business facilities.

“As Uganda’s tourism and business sectors continue to evolve, we see increasing demand for hospitality experiences that cater to a broad range of traveller needs,” said Johan Cronjé, Marriott International’s Regional Vice President for Sub-Saharan Africa.

The opening brings Marriott International’s portfolio in Uganda to seven properties across five brands.
