MSC Cruises has opened sales for its 2027/28 South African cruise season, confirming the return of MSC Sinfonia to local waters.
The season will begin on November 12, 2027, with 32 sailings departing from Durban’s Nelson Mandela Cruise Terminal and the Cape Town Cruise Terminal. Three-, four-, five-, seven- and 12-night itineraries will be offered.
MSC Sinfonia will begin the season in Durban with cruises to Mozambique, including Portuguese Island, Maputo and Pomene. The annual New Year’s cruise will include calls at Port Louis in Mauritius and La Possession in Réunion.
Following the New Year’s sailing, the ship will reposition to Cape Town in January 2028 for cruises to Walvis Bay, Namibia, before returning to Durban to conclude the season.
“MSC Sinfonia has had much success in South Africa, and we are confident that guests will be very happy with what this great vessel has to offer,” said Ross Volk, MD of MSC Cruises South Africa.
The 13-deck MSC Sinfonia accommodates more than 2 500 guests in 976 cabins and features six bars and lounges, four dining venues, two swimming pools, a spa, theatre, casino and children’s and teenagers’ facilities.
The ship also offers conference and event facilities accommodating groups ranging from 130 to 550 delegates.
