MSC Cruises’ private island destination, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas, is expected to begin accommodating two cruise ships simultaneously from late 2027 as part of an ongoing expansion, according to Cruise Industry News.
The report says according to MSC Cruises’ published deployment plans, the first double call is scheduled for November 16, 2027, when MSC Seaside and MSC Grandiosa are due to visit the island together. Both ships will make overnight calls during four-night Bahamas cruises departing from Miami and Port Canaveral respectively.
A further 15 double calls are scheduled through the end of 2027, involving vessels from both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
The increased capacity will be supported by a second cruise ship berth currently under development.
Ocean Cay’s wider expansion is also expected to introduce additional dining venues, expanded relaxation areas and new beach concepts aimed at families and adults during 2027.
Further development is planned for 2028 with the opening of Sandy Cay, an adjacent island that will complement the existing Ocean Cay experience.
