Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, who led the airline for 25 years, will step down from his role on November 5 and will be succeeded by the current COO of Hamad International Airport, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.

Baker’s decision comes after Qatari Emir Sheikh, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, issued his decision to replace Al Baker as Chairman of Qatar Tourism with Saad bin Ali bin Saad Al Kharji, reports thenationalnews.com.

No other reasons for his decision have been provided.
