1.Improved Cabanas Hotel
The three-star Cabanas
Hotel underwent a dramatic
renovation of its guest
rooms and reception area.
In the first major
refurbishment since 2007,
the family-orientated hotel
now offers a trendy, modern
island-style atmosphere
for guests to enjoy.
The remodelled reception
area is spacious with a
balconied foyer overlooking
the hotel’s restaurant (which
was also remodelled), while
the refreshed rooms reflect
the crisp, clean and laid-back
ambience of the Cabanas.
2.New event facility
Sun Park, a multipurpose
facility for hosting
lifestyle events, music
festivals, product
launches and other
experiences, will see
many more events at
the resort. Offering the
support services of an
indoor events venue
with the flexibility of an
outdoor space, Sun Park
is large enough to host
2 000 delegates cinema
style or 1 000 attendees
in schoolroom style.
3. Latest sllides
The Valley of the Waves
has two new slides –
Ovango and Noble’s
Descent. They are already
open to the public and
provide an adrenalinpumping
thrill unlike
any of the other water
slides at the resort.
The 155m-long Ovango
is a one- or two-person
raft slide that takes riders
through a dark, twisting
tunnel and, as the light
begins to fill the tube, they
get the feeling of falling
into the ‘boomerang’
section. From there they
shoot up an almost
vertical wall that rises 12
metres above the pool
reaching speeds of up to
50 kilometres per hour in
an inflatable raft.
4.Party time
As part of the upgrade,
the Sun City Hotel was
repositioned to provide an
‘always on’, Vegas-style party
zone, complete with night
clubs, burlesque clubs and
restaurants.
The recently opened Legends
upmarket restaurant night spot
aims to keep the over-18s
rocking until the wee hours of
the morning. The restaurant
pays tribute to the many
famous stars, personalities,
guests and icons who have
graced Sun City over the past
36 years. This restaurant
offers guests grill-housestyle
food complemented
by a diverse drinks menu.
It is open until late with live
entertainment.
