SAA delays results release

SAA has delayed the release of its 2023 audited financials due to a disagreement with the Auditor General on the treatment of revenue from expired air tickets.

The airline emphasised that the SAA board would ensure that the publishing of the audit of the last financial year would not be delayed beyond October.

The airline said in a statement that Minister of State-Owned Companies, Maropene Ramokgopa, had already informed Parliament that, due to the potential audit dispute, there was a likelihood of the annual report being delayed.

“As the Minister indicated in her letter to Parliament, SAA is fully cognisant of the importance of publishing its audited financials timeously, for both its legal obligations to accountability and transparency, as well as interaction with external financial stakeholders,” said SAA spokesperson, Khaya Buthelezi.
