Update: This article was updated on December 30, 09h30, with the addition of lines 6-9.

The US has announced that Proclamation 10315 of November 26, 2021 (Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting Coronavirus Disease 2019) is revoked from one minute after midnight strikes on Thursday, December 30, ie, the start of December 31, at 00h01.

Proclamation 10315 suspended and restricted entry into the US of non-citizens who had been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe during the 14-day period preceding their intended entry.

The official government document says the proclamation is effective from 12h01 (am) EST on December 31, 2021.

A United Airlines spokesperson said on December 30: "United looks forward to once again welcoming South Africans and citizens of other Southern African countries on its flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to the US from December 31, 2021. United continues to follow all government requirements related to international travel. This includes requiring passengers to provide necessary vaccination records, contact tracing information and proof of negative COVID-19 test results upon re-entering the US or as local restrictions require."
