and preparation,” says
Jeremy Clayton, gm of the
President Hotel.

Internet with no restrictions.
Guests will be able to
stream high-definition
content from services like
YouTube and ShowMax to
their devices.
A revamp of the pool area
is on the cards and will
include new sun loungers,

Bar, set to be completed
this month.
The hotel will also launch
a new children’s area in midDecember,
with dedicated
activities each day and
educational toys.

New owners upgrade Mpumalanga property
NEW owners of Mvuradona
Safari Lodge, Nico and
Estelle van Wyk, have
made some immediate
changes to operations at
the lodge.
They have implemented
new menus and completed
general maintenance around
the lodge and the staff have
been retrained. The lodge,
which is just outside the
Kruger National Park, will
close early next year for
renovations. Dates and full
renovation details are yet to
be finalised.
Rihann van Wyk will take
on a sales role and market
the lodge to the travel trade,
something he said had been
neglected by the previous
owners.
The lodge has a
honeymoon suite, four luxury
bush suites accommodating
two adults and one child, a
standard double room and
a twin room, both able to
accommodate two adults.
The property can also be
booked out exclusively on
either a self-catering or
catered basis, and can
accommodate 14 adults
and six children.
All suites are equipped
with air-conditioning,
tea- and coffee-making
facilities, heaters and hot
water bottles, hairdryers,
water decanters, insect
repellent and mosquito
nets. Additional facilities
include a pool, satellite
television, laundry service
and WiFi. Wildlife to be seen
at the lodge includes zebra,
giraffe, warthog, impala and
mongoose.
Wine estate gets a facelift
THE Franschhoek hospitality
and wine estate, La Petite
Ferme, has undergone
refurbishments and upgrades
following the change of
ownership last year.
The newly reopened La
Petite Ferme restaurant now
has a more modern appeal.
Executive chef, Neethling du
Toit said: “Some of our dishes
are so popular and ‘set in the
history’ of the estate that we’ll
always look to retain them
on the menu in some shape
or form, but introduce an
additional twist.”
A new tapas and cocktail
area in the garden area
opened in November. Guests
can now dine in the restaurant,
on the veranda or in the
garden. The restaurant is
open for dinner every day from
November to April.
The cottage-style
accommodation will be
renovated soon.
