partnering with TMCs – including
ITCs – that invest in the relevant
technology to stay on top of growing
trends.

as airlines, hotels and car-rental
companies have all become more
tech savvy by offering their own
direct booking channels. Therefore,
suppliers are able to engage better
and maintain stronger relationships
with TMCs that are as up to date
with technology. In order to keep up
with trends, Travel Counsellors has
injected R12m into its myTC
mobile app.
The app is used by clients and
agents to make and manage
bookings and includes features
such as an enquiries section to
request and view quotes.
While this may seem like a large
sum of money to invest in an app,
Steve Byrne, of Travel Counsellors,
says it shows suppliers that the
company is dedicated to matching
their technological strategy.
He adds that investing in
technology has the knock-on effect
of strengthening relationships
between agents and clients.
