SWISS expands rail offering

SWISS has expanded its Air Rail offering by adding Grindelwald as a new destination, allowing travellers arriving by air to reach the Bernese Alps more easily.

The new route is in collaboration with national rail operator Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and Jungfrau Railways.

When booking their flight, travellers can add rail transfers by selecting their preferred railway station as the departure or arrival point. For Grindelwald, as well as all existing Air Rail destinations, SWISS also provides a guaranteed connection in the event of delays.

The SWISS Air Rail network now comprises 25 destinations across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

SNCF and SBB expand partnership

SNCF Voyageurs and SBB have extended their partnership to expand rail operations, on their jointly operated service provider TGV Lyria between France and Switzerland.

The new agreement will see TGV Lyria expand on its current routes between Paris and Geneva, Lausanne, Basel and Zurich.

On April 16, TGV will introduce a new route connecting Lausanne and Marseille, via Geneva.
