Air France and SNCF Voyageurs have extended their Train + Air service to all OUIGO trains serving Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The expansion, effective September 21, adds connections from cities including Angers, Le Mans, Lille, Nantes and Rennes.
The system enables flights and rail journeys to be booked together. If a delay or cancellation disrupts the journey, passengers can be rebooked on the next available train or flight at no additional cost. Online check-in through Air France opens 30 hours before departure.
Oman-UAE rail trials planned for 2027
Trial operations on the first direct railway between Oman and the UAE are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, Oman’s Transport, Communications and Information Technology Minister, Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, has confirmed. A date for commercial passenger services has yet to be announced.
The 238km Hafeet Rail line will connect the Omani port city of Sohar to the UAE’s rail network via Al Buraimi and Al Ain. Passenger trains are designed to travel at speeds of up to 200kph, offering an alternative to road travel for visitors combining the two countries in one trip.
