Welcome, dear reader, to Travel News, which replaces eTNW.co.za.
Travel News is the next generation of Travel News Weekly – a household name in the travel community for the last 50 years. The last issue of TNW will be printed and distributed this month (view the digital edition here). The new daily online news site, travelnews.co.za, will bring readers all the parts of TNW they have come to know and love and rely on, with the addition of digital media benefits.
The rich multimedia site will be packed with daily updates, breaking news, insightful columns, in-depth analysis and research, video, webinars, community news and so much more.
Advertisers will benefit from featuring alongside original, niche content delivered daily and on a larger scale by an established and trusted brand. Now, more than ever, our aim is to promote travel as we look forward to the re-emergence of the travel industry in a post-COVID-19 world.
“As a focused business-to-business newspaper with original content, TNW has defied the trend affecting most print media, and the last three years have been its most profitable. But COVID-19 has made it clear that the time to change is now,” says Anton Marsh, md and grandson of the founders. “The changing situation, with hourly updates and constant breaking news, has made it clear that travel agents need information more often. The SA lockdown has made it opportune to change now so that agents can continue to be informed when at home.”
Features are planned to be produced from July, placed online in a separate PDF format and distributed in a special mailer each week and promoted online. Each month, these features, which agents can keep for reference, will be printed and bound into special editions, and distributed to readers.
