Wizz Air resumes Abu Dhabi flights

Wizz Air will resume flights to Abu Dhabi after closing its UAE base in September.

According to the airline’s website, Wizz Air Hungary will take over some operations previously operated by Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. Flights between Larnaca, Cyprus, and Abu Dhabi, and Sofia, Bulgaria, and Abu Dhabi will begin from November 15 and 17, respectively.

The airline previously operated the routes under its Abu Dhabi brand but suspended Sofia services in June and Larnaca at the end of August.

Flights between Katowice, Poland, are also expected to resume by the end of this month.

In July, Wizz Air, announced that it would suspend all Abu Dhabi operations from September 1 to focus on its core markets in Central and Eastern Europe and selected Western European markets. The airline faced increasing operational challenges, including engine reliability constraints, geopolitical volatility and regulatory barriers.
