Amadeus and privately owned South African car-hire company, Woodford Car Hire, have signed a long-term agreement that enables the rental company to reach Amadeus’s network of travel agencies around the world.
Amadeus users worldwide will have access to Woodford’s car-rental content and tools, enabling them to better serve customers and increase their agency revenues. Most importantly, travel agents will have a seamless connection to Woodford Car Hire products and services and be able to provide instant booking confirmation. Through the various Amadeus Cars solution interfaces, additional agent benefits include car location map display, detailed car rate feature and car policy information, enhanced multimedia, including vehicle images, and airport location shuttle information and PNR integration.
Partnering with Amadeus means that Woodford can sell its content from one single connection to users through multiple channels around the globe, reaching more than 400 000 travel agents.
Woodford, a BEE Level 2 company, has a fleet of over a thousand vehicles and operates from seven locations, including all four of South Africa’s major airports. The group has three divisions that cover everything from truck and car rentals to logistics and services.
