promoted to

manager of

Corporation.

be responsible for growing

Lukas
Laubscher has
been appointed
deputy gm of
The Twelve
Apostles Hotel
and Spa. He
has a marketing degree
from the University of the
Free State and spent eight
years working in restaurants
around South Africa. Lukas
then moved to the UK
where he joined The Peter
Michael Collection. He
joined the Red Carnation
Hotel Collection in 2012
as deputy gm of The Old
Government House Hotel
and Spa on Guernsey,
then moved to the Duke of
Richmond Hotel as hotel
manager where he has
spent the last four years.
Alejandro Bernabé has
been appointed group
director of Avani Hotels
and Resorts. Alejandro
has years of practical
operational and food and
beverage experience in
city hotels and resort
properties. He will be
responsible for driving
performance of Avani
properties in sales,
distribution, marketing,
public relations, brand
standards and guest
experiences.
Gavin Ferreira is the new
gm of De Hoek Country
Hotel, Magaliesburg. He
began his career in the
hospitality industry in 2001
and has held management
positions at several hotels,
most recently deputy gm of
the Twelve Apostles Hotel,
Cape Town. He has also
had culinary and beverage
training both in the UK and
SA. Gavin has taken over
from Michael Holenstein,
who has been appointed
executive Mayor of Mogale
City. Also joining the De
Hoek Country Hotel, is new
sales manager, Khulile
Mkhabela. “We are thrilled
to have Gavin and Khulile
join the De Hoek team,”
said assistant gm, Henry
Sisya.
Minor Hotels has
appointed Ramzy Fenianos
as vp Development for
Europe, Middle East and
Africa. Ramzy has over
10 years’ experience in
hospitality and real estate.
Prior to joining Minor Hotels,
he was vp Acquisitions
and Development
Middle East and Africa
of Starwood Hotels and
Resorts Worldwide. He
holds a Master’s Degree
in Real Estate Finance,
Major Investments and
Developments from Ecole
Superiéure Des Professions
Immobilières in France, and
an Advanced Certification
in Real Estate and Hotel
Investment from Cornell
University in the US.
